Parent Meeting Minutes 10-7-13

Janet McNeer Welcomed parents including parents of new students:

Harris 6^th, Allen 8^th, and Cannon 7^th

Teacher Updates:

·         School Pictures: October 15^th 12:15-12:30 (kids can  bring a change of clothes, hairbrush)

·         Needed supplies: ice packs-disposable, alcohol wipes, bactine, bandaids, chlorox wipes, paper towels, fever stickers

·         November 25^th Roper Mountain Filed trip 7^th&8^th grade will do a gender specific class, 4-6^th science class

·         Pet therapy- began Monday of this week with Jan Todd from Greenville Humane Society, a field trip may be planned to visit the program as well.  She will come monthly

·         Art classes for both group A&B have begun

·         Music and Movement classes have also begun and are being taught by Mrs. Brewster, program to follow at Christmas event

·         Report Cards come out October 22, 2013

·         Stevie B filed trip to work on social skills was a huge success

·         Einstein is partnering with the Homeless Coalition this year

·         After School just went to 1^st monthly filed trip to Kroc Center, a once a month trip will not take place in November or December

·         October 14^th the 9^th & 10^th graders will go to the Peace Center to see “Jason and the Argonauts “

*Reminder families must do 10 hours of volunteer work per year/per family (Gala a great place to start)

Gala-October 25^th, tickets through Claire or online you can buy through portal or school website

                Clemson /Carolina baskets still need more donations.  Check with your child’s teacher if not
